Back in January 2013, Josh, Cortney and Iain shot their very first collaboration together titled, "Another Easygoing Brother In The Meadow Wind." The short follows a disillusioned sniper, in a field in France, during World War II as wind and snow bear down upon him. While manning his post he contemplates his lot in life. Laying in wait for his next victim, the sounds of war slowly encroach on his position.
Samo Indie FIlm Fest had a nice little blurb to say about the project: "In one interrupted take, this quiet World War II drama gives a cinematic and poetic portrayal of soldiers at war. The loneliness and isolation of the protagonist is elegantly rendered through the serene and expansive landscape, with a quiet narrative riding the visuals. A tranquil reflection on a tumultuous time, this short practically lets you feel the crisp air on your cheek."
The short film will show at Tallgrass Film Festival in Wichita Kansas on Thursday Oct. 15 and Sunday Oct. 18. It's a surreal feeling that we are heading back to Kansas where we originally filmed the project and are so humbled that we are still seeing momentum with it! After all, it's what brought us all together in the first place. If you're in the area, come see the film and hang with us after! http://stubbornlyindependent.com
